When P1 (inlet pressure) becomes lower than P2 (outlet pressure), the check valve opens and the pressure in the diaphragm chamber is discharged to the P1 side.
This allows the outlet pressure to flow back rapidly to the inlet side due to the mechanism that opens the main valve.
The AR20K-B to AR60K-B and the AR20K-D to AR40K-D series are regulators with a backflow function.
